Trust your struggle

So the picture you see on the left is my tattoo. It's on my forearm and it's a quote that I hold dear to my heart. When I got this tattoo it meant so much to me. I felt like life as I knew it was falling apart around me. Like I had NO ONE. Nothing.  I felt like this would be a symbol forever to me to remind me of the struggle and pain I went through that year. The disappointments dragged on & I was so unhappy. Finally I came to a point where I got over it all. I realized that PAIN is temporary. That pain won't hold me back from working two jobs, my dreams, getting to where I wanted & what I wanted. I promised myself to never allow someone to be the reason for my happiness because with one word, action ETC they could take it all from me. All the time I spent building my confidence back up, my happiness, & relationships someone would be able to take from me in a heartbeat. What I've realized through out everything I've been through in the 22 years I've been alive is that You need to find happiness within yourself, your heart & everything else you do. Because ultimately YOU are responsible for your HAPPINESS. You shouldn't rely on someone else for that. Although I think it's just fine if someone makes you happy that's completely different. I feel like if you are happy with yourself anyone can make you happy as long as you're not relying on them for HAPPINESS nothing can break you down. You're bulletproof in a line of bullets. You're a steel rod being stoned. You're the most confident being there is because YOU'RE HAPPY. You know who you are, What you stand for and what you want in LIFE. & no words, bitterness or anything can take you down ! Just like i said in the beginning pain is a temporary feeling ! Pain BREEDS STRENGTH ! through every struggle comes prevail ! Trust your struggle ! Trust that something better will happen ! Because to be quite honest through every struggle & painful situation i've been through came something BETTER. Something Bigger.

“People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that’s bullshit. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they’re afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they’re wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It’s all in how you carry it. That’s what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you’re letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.”

Hey Everyone ! This is super late i know, but i've been insanely busy ! Anyways i wanted to say I hope you had an amazing and safe halloween ! :) We sure did ! It was an amazing day/night ! Chris was a ceiling fan heheh and I was a bunny wabbit ! lol I worked all day and some guy even asked me if I was a chicken? lol Idk either. Chris and I ended the day by going out to eat together and just enjoying smiles and laughs as well as eachothers company. It's been so long that we laughed like we did or smiled ! I felt so happy this day and will remember it and appreciate it forever ! Remember to always buy your stuff for next year the day and week after the holiday ! When I went into walmart everything was 50% off or marked down to a $1 ! Killer steal !

I was even able to FACETIME my family back home ! I'm an aunt to the most amazing kids on this earth! I love these children with all my heart and miss them more and more everyday !

Below are my decorations ! & my costume idea !

"Eleven Hints for Life"

1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return.
But what is more painful is to love someone and never
find the courage to let that person know how you feel.

2. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who
means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was
never meant to be and you just have to let go.

3. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a
porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away
feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

4. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

5. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an
hour to like someone, and a day to love someone-but it
takes a lifetime to forget someone.

6. Don't go for looks, they can deceive. Don't go for wealth, even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.

7. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be. Because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

8. Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.

9. A careless word may kindle strife. A cruel word may wreck a life. A timely word may level stress. But a loving word may heal and bless.

10. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.

DIY: Smoothie ! YUM!

I know I know.... It's getting way to cold for this, but it's so tasty and great after a workout if you add protein ! :)

You'll Need :
Frozen Fruit
& Your favorite flavored water !

Blend together add a little more water than fruit if you'd like a more water easy to sip smoothie & add more fruit than water if you'd like a more ice creamy like smoothi ! ENJOY ! :)

DIY: Ombre Hair ! Easy (For darker hair colors)

So As you can tell in my picture I attempted putting directions, but I'll kind of go through them a little more in detail on here !

So First of all you're going to want your hair DRY. Washed or not washed the day of it's up to you. It's usually better if you haven't just washed it because you're really going to wash it again once we're done here.

Second You're going to want to either grab hair dye which is LESS damaging to the hair or you can be a rebel and grab some bleach which is what I did,but don't get scared ! There's always repair treatments or in my case i used AUSSIE'S hair treatment. Which you see pictured below

So now you're going to add You're bleach/Hair dye whatever your preference & Start basically running it through your hair. Be sure to brush it through then put some in again brush it through and add more. So it turns out even. Then Use some foils to cover the bleach if it's regular hair DYE i don't feel it's necessary, but it's completely up to you.

Next let sit for about 30 Mins. ***BLEACH you're always going to want to keep your EYE on because it's damaging to the hair so if you see your hair becoming straw like or feeling weaker when you go to feel it take the foils out right away. Wash it. Condition it. Then try again in a week. Yep a week. You want to keep those beautiful locks of love.

If in any case it feels fine then let's keep moving on. So after about 30 mins you should see some change in your hair. If not and your hair feels fine let sit another 5.

Next take the foils off let your hair breath for 30 seconds and hop into the shower !

NOW:  While you're in there wash out all the bleach or hair dye you possibly can.

Now take your conditioning treatment (Pictured above) is the one i use ! & it's my holy grail product ! Add your conditioning treatment and let sit for about 10 minutes! add a shower cap to lock in some heat ! Once it's been 10 minutes take cap off rinse off ! & hop out ! :)

Now let air dry ! Style & there ya go ! Your beautiful locks of love have turned into beautiful locks of lighter color than the rest heheh ..

I usually do one week treatments where every friday or saturday if I'm not satisfied with the color Ill keep lighting it. If i feel like it's being damaged I stop. That's very important ! You don't want your hair damaged anymore in this process. Also, Conditioning treatments are a MUST when doing this project !

BEFORE:                                                                     AFTER:

DIY: Revamp a run down vanity !

Hi Guys ! Glad to see you back ! So this a fairly old picture of my niece and I working on a 4 year old vanity ! Which i absolutely love ! :)  I'm going to make this tutorial super QUICK! Since I have a lot on my plate today ! But i hope you guys enjoy it !

This project took me less than an hour and i enjoyed it ! So did my sweet niece!

What you'll need :

Spray Paint (Color of your choice)
Masking tape & Newspaper to cover the mirror (Unless you're going to replace)
& Sand Paper !

So pretty self explanatory you're going to want to SAND DOWN the vanity.
TAPE off anything you don't want to get spray paint on !
I did 3 coats first 2 I let sit over night & then the finishing one i did in the morning and my gorgeous vanity was ready by night !

After all of that ! I filled it up with all my stuff and it looked gorgeous ! This was a pottery barn vanity turned into something you might see at a target or sears!

I love how it turned out and hope you find something similar so this tutorial is somewhat helpful OR if you don't and you just love these tutorials/DIY's let me know in the comments below so I can post more ! :)

Happy Fall Loves ! <3

DIY: Window Screen ! Keeps you cool inside, out of the sun & it's hard to see through from the outside !

SO: Yes this is a pretty random one and you could probably find it more in detail on some other hardware site, but since I was able to do this instead of having someone come in and install them for me I wanted show you guys how EASY and effective this was !

                                                   What you'll need :

  • Roller
  • Utility Knife
  • Measuring Tape
  • Frames
  • Corners
  • Screen
  • Screening Spline
So first of all I measured my window & then spent about 25-30 Mins Cutting the frame to size (Shown in picture #1) my window and added about an INCH to each side. Reason being I wanted it to fully cover my window and then have room to nail the Frame in.

Next, I used the 'corners' to connect all my pieces (Shown in picture #2) Make sure the corners fit snug and correctly. The corners are also a guide to make sure you have all the framing at the right angle  so it fits nice and level on the window itself.

Next you're going to roll out the screen you chose (Shown in picture 3# Bottom left) There are a few different screens to choose from. My favorite look is the black screen because I feel it has more of a shaded effect and let's a little bit of light in where as my dad's house has brown screen which totally blacks the room out as much as a screen could and almost has tighter stitching to keep sunlight out. Which is very hard to see into in the day or night. ----- Back to Business So once you have the screen rolled out you're going to want to have someone pull it tightly on the other end pulling away from you.

You're then going to start using your 'ROLLER' the screening spline into the grooves of the framing on top of the screen. (Picturing the frame laying down, spline going into grooves of frame which will be on the backside once hung up so it'll be hidden) (Shown in Picture #3 Bottom Left) So roll that in there and make sure you're doing it pretty tight and snug so there aren't any bubbles or waves in the screen. It'll be a sore to the eye once hung.

After doing so, You're going to take your utility knife and cut away the excess screen try not to damage it because you may be able to re use any left over screen depending on the size of the window. Once you've cut away the rest of the screen put to the side or store somewhere you'll remember so you can RE USE it !

And There Ya go ! You have a HOME MADE screen ! (shown in picture #4 Bottom right) Instead of having them made, Waiting for them to be made, Going to pick them up and paying someone to put them on YOU'VE just MADE IT YOURSELF !

ENJOY your new screen ! & stay cool and out of the sun in those HOT climates !

Clearly we're approaching cold season but, you could always put your screens on before winterizing your home !

Thanks for reading !

DIY: Turn that old sweater into a scarf, leg warmers & a crop sweater tee !? Yess !

Just in time for the Cold season !

So i had an old out dated sweater which sadly was a little tight on my tummy that I noticed of this weekend :( SO ! I decided I can't let it go ! I'm going to reuse it ! Yes i'm one of those people that want my money's worth wether it's a $1 or $12. This sweater was only $2.50 @ salvation army.

So as you can tell from the picture I cut the turtle neck off and used it as a scarf ! So comfortable and warm. Not only that ! it's a fall color ! :)

Next I cut off the sleeve which had some awesome button detailing which hung out of the top of my boots. Almost making them look like I spent a good chunk of change on them ! These are my favorite out of all three pieces. You can pair them with leggings, black skinnies, or even dark jeans ! under boots of course. I've never tried them with sneakers, but there's a first time for everything.

Lastly, the rest of the shirt ?! I didn't toss it because it actually looked decent on top of my long sleeve! So i kept it. And loved sporting it. I obviously couldn't wear all three pieces together or someone might find out what i did there.. hehe lol,but it would be super cute paired with a long sleeve leather jacket and possibly the warmers&some saddle boots!

OH the possibilities when DIY'ing ! You never know what you can do with that box of "stuff to get rid of" literally the BOX and the stuff inside the box.

Happy DIY'ing loves !

Thriftin' It !

So to the left is an outfit I found on pinterest which could retail anywhere from $100-350 or more. So i decided I would use that as my inspiration. I had to leave a few certain pieces out because of my budget, but i'd say i came pretty darn close. I enjoyed this scavenger hunt so much ! I hit up my closest savers or here they call it "value village" same diff.  The whole outfit cost me close to $20. The purse I already owned which was also thrifted from Plato's closet ! So much fun doing this and i'll post more in the future. Here's a few pics of me in my "new" outfit :)

Decorating doesn't have to break the bank !

So what you see above is some of my fall decor ! Around my home. I absolutley love every piece and love decorating for any occassion.

1. Fake flowers in a reused vase $1
2. Candle that i found in the clearance aisle of Bed&bath and it was missing it's candle holder so my boyfriend shaved it down to fit in there which was re used from one of my candles that melted ! $.89
3. Leave Decor that I put candy inside $2
4. Scarecrow that I hung on the front door with a fridge magnet $2

I absolutely enjoy all these decorations and getting festive & have recently found tons of stuff at Walmart that are already going on clearance from their fall sale ! Exciting :)

                    Happy fall Lovely !

Some personal goals

1. Own a lifted black truck. I've always LOVED big trucks, i've loved the shiny black car look & the endless amount of space !An avalanche with pink shocks & some pretty big off road tires wouldn't hurt . Now only if the gas prices would go down. I'd like to get further than the local gas station in my new shiny truck.
2. Be an interior designer - Something i've always loved is INTERIOR DESIGN. Countless hours of HGTV, & the DIY network led me to my passion which i'll pursue when the time is right. As of now i'm doing things that have to do with it.. DIY home decor, Moving things around in my home ETC.
I'd like to be the interior designer that's able to make over your home for a fraction of the cost because of my ability to restore anything, to make something, to take thrift store pieces and make them look high end. ETC

3. Achieve natural birth -  When i first heard this idea I thought to myself i'd never EVER be able to get through something like this, but also in the back of my mind I think to myself but countless numbers of other women have done it WHY cant i? My guess is it has to do with is understanding your body and it's pain tolerance. Now i can barely deal with "monthly" pain let alone contractions so this might be for child number 2 or 3. Who knows but at some point in time i'd like to at least try& achieve it & if i don't make it all the way through .. WELL at least i TRIED.

4. Plan a wedding - Most likely my own,but once again the media influenced me. Watching the movie 'wedding planner' starring J. lo was my ultimate favorite movie & still is ! I'd pass anything up on the tv to watch the wedding planner. I've looked into wedding planning and to me seems like a HUGE accomplishment. Most people are like throw together some chairs, tables, buy some cute dresses and call it a day! But there's more to it ..To me it's about the emotional road you go down while planning it. The relationships you build along the way. The Multi Tasking, The designing of it. The meaning of every little thing .. Example: Using RED because he gave you a red rose when you first met, Using bows around every chair because the bride absolutely loves them. making things because the bride loves DIY projects (heheh ok maybe just me) but to me attempting DIY'ing your wedding instead of buying everything adds a personal touch to your wedding .. I absolutely love the idea of planning a wedding and HOPE to one day ..

Keep in mind i have so many more of this, but when i made this i tried using only four that instantly came to my mind ! And these were it :)

Let me introduce myself :)

There's me on the right .. Obviously :) .. I'm a 22 year old, DIY lovin, family oriented, Girlfriend, Sister, hard working, animal lover who loves to blog, read blogs, design and try new things when it comes to DIY, organizing, and interior design. Pinterest and me have a pretty special relationship reason being why i do so many DIY projects and try new things around my home. I'm an aunt to the most amazing children ever & have so much love for my neiece and nephews! Being an aunt is definitely rewarding.

Meanwhile to fill in my void of having no children of my own I have two awesome dogs named Marley (who my boyfriend adopted from my sister) & Pistol who I've had since he could fit into a cup holder. That's him down there & the second picture is both of my rats.

Recently a kitten just let himself into my apartment this morning who is now known as KING around our house. & my dogs have developed a love/hate relationship for him/her IT in the past 4 hours. I love watching them get to know each other.

Typically my days consist of working, more working OR days like today where i have a day off or three hehe.. OR spending time with my amazing boyfriend who is currently serving in the US airforce. He's my better half and i love him with all my heart <3

Lateley I've taken up DIY projects, Designing, & organzing. All of which i've ALWAYS had my eye on but never new how to express it and through the power and holiness of pinterest i've been able to do so !! haha and sometimes i even come up with my own ideas :)

I turned one of my dad's old t shirts into a racer back tee. Loved this one ! Which i found on pinterest

This is a make shift litter box for my new friend ;)

I love to organize ! Something i did at my job was organized & merchandised something we call "the cube" Which is where most people look first when they walk in !

Needless to say i was pretty proud of my work ! Too bad i couldn't get a before picture of my first idea which was HORRID ! But here's how it turned out !

Anyways, Thankyou for stopping by and STAY TUNED ! There's always something up my sleeve :)
